rockin' collars.

Stand-out collars with a twist are a huge trend this season. I put this outfit together because I absolutely adore the sparkly collar on this top, and pairing it under an LBD creates a very fashion forward look. I also own these patterned tights from Target, and I have to say I wear them all the time. They're versatile, cozy, and a nice departure from your boring old black tights while, at the same time, subtle enough for work. Enjoy!

ba-roque.

Shopping on a budget can be difficult. However, it doesn't mean you have to throw style out the window just because you can't buy that $200 Tory Burch purse. I think online shops, particularly those that are headquartered in the UK, are perfect for those of us that may be a little ba-roque. Here's an outfit that features many of my favorite online shops, along with some traditional ones, with items all under $50. Enjoy!

baby it's cold outside.

Brrrrr!!!! I am not ready for this cold weather! I haven't even considered unpacking my winter sweaters. In the meantime, I guess we need to start working together some outfits with cozy sweaters and warm, knitted scarves. Here's one with a great boucle sweater in one of this season's hottest colors: oxblood!

spooky.

My favorite holiday of the year, besides Christmas and my birthday, is Halloween. It's so fun to get dressed up and party all night long to spooky themed music and drink smoke-filled cocktails. But do you know what completely ruins the holiday for me?? I come into work and find that all my female colleagues are wearing tacky halloween decorations that double as jewelry, clothing, or worse yet...devil horns! Please don't wear devil horns at work. It's so inappropriate. Anyway, here are some appropriate and super cute halloween-themed items you can bring in to work:

Wednesday Wear

It's so muggy out today in D.C. that I felt I had to wear a little yellow to brighten up the day. Maybe if we all wore yellow on muggy days, the sun would just have to come out and say hi!

Here's what I wore today:

summer yellow.

Yellow is my favorite color. When I see it, it makes me so happy. Here's a little yellow inspiration that I hope will make you feel cheery and sunny all day.

a psychedelic dream.

Print

Peplum shirt, $17; Apt 9 cropped jacket, $35; ASOS high waisted skirt, $35; Zara shoes, $50; ALDO metallic clutch, $35; Adrienne Vittadini faux pearl jewelry, $38; Plastic jewelry, $13; Dogeared cultured pearl jewelry, $44

Don't you just love this skirt? It's such a fun print -- very psychedelic. Now let's figure out how to make it work-appropriate:

Paired with classic neutrals, this skirt stands out in an unexpected way. I really like the look of  this skirt with a peek-a-boo peplum underneath this short, fitted blazer. I think it's a great way to spice it up at work while keeping it very classy. It's definitely pulling off that Victoria Beckham look.

This is my third blazer post for blazer week (which has really turned into blazer weeks due to the holiday), and I hope you've enjoyed my pairings.

Well, I hope you all have a great Monday! In the meantime, I want to leave you all with a special quote that will hopefully brighten up your day and take you through the rest of the week:

"Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world." -- Harriet Tubman
