My favorite holiday of the year, besides Christmas and my birthday, is Halloween. It's so fun to get dressed up and party all night long to spooky themed music and drink smoke-filled cocktails. But do you know what completely ruins the holiday for me?? I come into work and find that all my female colleagues are wearing tacky halloween decorations that double as jewelry, clothing, or worse yet...devil horns! Please don't wear devil horns at work. It's so inappropriate. Anyway, here are some appropriate and super cute halloween-themed items you can bring in to work:

So yesterday I was invited to an event at the residence of an ambassador. Of course, my first thought was "what should I wear?" I've been to one of these before, and I remember the dress being either professional or cocktail-ish. It seemed like the crowd didn't know which was more appropriate.

My go-to item for these kinds of work/professional events is the sheath dress. It's appropriate for both work and cocktail hours, and women look just fabulous in them. Here's what I think I'm wearing to my event:
